Why coaching?

Firstly! This is not a "OMG I lost 2 stone in 4 weeks" type of programme, I know too many people have been sucked into those in the past. You will see results but primarily we will be working together to really dig into what is or isn't working for you and most importantly why. 

The key to coaching vs just having a programme to follow is that we will delve into habits, lifestyle and all the barriers that have stopped you from achieving your goals in the past. This is to help you understand you. You might have lost your identity since having children or you might be fed up of being stuck in the same cycle of starting something and then not finishing it, or you may have been trying programmes and not getting the results you want...Coaching might just be for you! 

Different coaches run their programmes in different ways. This page explains what to expect when working with me and the types of things we might talk through together. This will be personalised to your goals but gives an idea of the processes I like to try and follow for structure and clarity.

Goals. Habits. Consistency.

I will adapt to an approach that works for you as everyone has a different style. I am restricting the number of clients I will be working with so I can give a personal service, I don't want to overstretch and have too many people and I want to get you know everyone as well as possible!

Consultation

Before signing up to anything, I will meet with you either in person or online, depending on where you live, so I can get you know you better. We might talk through the challenges you're currently facing or a specific goal you have. This conversation is to establish how we might work together and gives you a change to go away and think about what's on offer and if it'll work for you. 

Programme

I will look at the goals we are looking to set, the way you prefer to work and anything I think needs to be looked into e.g. you might think you need in person PT because you struggle to stick to a plan but I may recommend considering online coaching with 1 PT per month to set you up but also hold you accountable and work on habits or mindset. Ultimately though the decision will be down to you and your preferences... and also we can also change/tweak things! You're not locked in!

Set up

Once you have decided a package, I will send you a welcome email with some more information about how things will work, this is for you to look through while I start to get you set up on a few different systems I like to use to make things as smooth as possible - these will not cost anything on top of the programme price.

  • Informed consent & medical form to ensure there are no medical issues and you're happy with what's being offered from a service point of view

  • Trainerize for programmes/plans 

  • My Habit Tracker on google sheets (via website or app for your phone)

  • If needed, an app of your choice to track your food

It's also where we'll set expectations around working together from both my point of view and yours! 

Daily messages

Different people like different levels of communication so I will be led mostly by you, but i'll keep in touch almost daily via what's app to see how you're getting on, motivate you and ensure I know about anything you're finding difficult to work through - so you never feel alone

Weekly check in

I will set you up to receive a form every week to check in and answer 10 simple questions, I will then use this in addition to your habit tracker to determine if anything should change in our plans and tweak it so it helps us work together towards your goals. This is a chance for you to tell me how you think things are going, how the week ahead looks and anything you might need extra support with.

Monthly alignment

This is an opportunity for us to catch up in a bit more detail, we will take into account all your check in's and talk about the upcoming month (or maybe two, depending on your goal). This is an opportunity for you to tell me whether you wish to continue and for us to talk about any changes that have happened since we first me.
